Recruiting

F.H. Black & Company will provide confidential, custom tailored recruiting and selection services consistent with the needs of your specific organization. Our consulting process may include any or all of the following:

Employee Prospecting: incorporates web research, competitor research, educational institutions, co-op programs and registration of job postings on relevant websites just to name a few.

Resume Screening: review of all incoming resumes and sort according to requirements of the position.

Interviewing: our human resource professionals co-ordinate and conduct candidate interviews on behalf of our clients. The process may include several interviews coincident with seniority level of position.

  • Initial Assessment: pre-screening telephone conversation to assess candidate's professionalism, communication skills and interest in position;
  • Screening Interview: 15-20 minute screening interview to assess corporate fit, professional dress and presentation, skill set and qualifications, salary expectations;
  • Due Diligence: where applicable, candidates will be required to perform job specific testing (ie. typing, computer skills, written test, etc.). This process would also include a reference check, preferably with three professional/business references as provided by the candidate, criminal record checking and other relevant measures where appropriate.
  • Final Interview: based on candidate progressing through all above steps, a final in-depth interview would be conducted jointly by our H.R. professionals and the client at which time all points of concern will be addressed.

Presentation of Offer of Employment: presentation of employment offer to candidate to include negotiation of hiring details. (Note does not include preparation of employment agreement.)

Recruiting/Consulting Fees

Consistent with industry standards, our recruiting fees are based on a percentage of the employee's hiring salary. Rates may vary and are subject to change as factors such as candidate availability, work shortages and ability to locate specific skill sets are assessed.

Candidate Guarantee

F.H. Black & Company guarantees direct hire placements for three months. If the employee hired through F.H. Black & Company resigns without just cause, as defined by Employment Standards Legislation, or is terminated for just cause within three months of the start date of employment, we will replace the employee at no additional cost to you. This guarantee does not apply if the scope of the duties has changed substantially or if the separation is a result of a general downsizing or reduction in force. If the placement fee is not paid within thirty days, the guarantee is null and void.
