July 1st, 2009 was a big day for content management systems updates! First Joomla! updated to 1.5.12, and then Drupal released a security maintenance upgrade.
Drupal was updated because of fixes being made available for multiple security bugs which threaten to compromise the website via Cross Site Scripting (XSS) and URL-crafting techniques.
If your organisation uses the Joomla! content management system (CMS) to operate your website, an important update to the CMS is now available.
On July 1st, 2009, Joomla.org made the new Joomla! 1.5.12 Security Release available for download. This Security Release contains fixes for 25 bugs found in the earlier 1.5.11 version.
All of our clients use spreadsheets. I am regularly impressed with the skills they demonstrate in creating sophisticated spreadsheets that do everything from calculating depreciation of fixed assets to salesperson commissions. Some of these spreadsheets are so automated as to be considered applications in their own right - which is great. Spreadsheets are an accessible way to develop custom solutions for many needs.
