Human Resources Generalist

We are looking for a skilled and energetic HR Generalist to support and manage the internal HR operations of our firm. Reporting directly to the HR Partner, this individual will play a key role in supporting leadership and employees with day-to-day HR needs, ensuring compliance with legislation, and helping foster a positive, high-performing workplace culture.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Full-cycle recruitment for Accounting, HR, and Administrative roles at FHB including job postings, screening, interviewing, and offer coordination

  • Manage payroll and benefits administration, as well as absence and leave tracking

  • Oversee onboarding and off-boarding processes, performance review coordination, and progressive discipline up to and including terminations

  • Provide guidance and coaching to employees and managers on HR policies, procedures, and best practices

  • Maintain accurate and organized employee records and HR documentation

  • Support the development, implementation, and improvement of HR initiatives, policies, onboarding processes, and internal HR systems

·       Performance management, including annual reviews, etc

  • Lead culture-building efforts by coordinating firm events, social gatherings, and engagement initiatives

  • Ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and local labour legislation and internal policies

  • Prepare internal HR data and KPI reports to support leadership decision-making

  • Provide support to the HR External Consulting team as required

Skills and Qualifications

·       Post-secondary education or degree in Human Resources Management

·       CPHR or CPHR candidate considered a strong asset

·       Minimum 3 years of relevant Human Resources experience

·       Strong knowledge of HR functions (recruitment, pay & benefits, employee relations, etc.)

·       Solid understanding of Canadian labour legislation and HR compliance requirements

·       Proficient in MS Office; strong IT and computer understanding

·       Keen attention to detail, deadline-oriented, superior time management skills

·       Strong communication and client-service skills; positive, flexible, adaptable, and outgoing interpersonal style

·       Problem-solving and decision-making aptitude, with strong ethics and reliability

·       Ability to pass a Criminal Record Check
