Human Resources Specialist

Due to the significant growth our firm has experienced over the past 12 months, we are seeking a talented and energetic Human Resources Specialist with a wide range of experience in the field to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the management of various client engagements amongst a wide range of industries, providing on-site client support, and serving as a trusted advisor to clients on complex workplace matters and organizational priorities.

What You’ll Do:

  • Reporting to and working in collaboration with the Director of Human Resources, our Human Resources Specialist

    will provide functional support to our clients on an ongoing basis in areas such as:

    • Full cycle recruitment;

    • Staffing & retention;

    • Orientation & onboarding;

    • Workplace harassment investigations;

    • Labour relations & grievance management;

    • Performance & coaching management;

    • Policy adherence;

    • Employee engagement.

    This individual will play a critical part in supporting, partnering with, and guiding our clients in the field of Human

    Resources, ensuring legislative compliance at all times. Main responsibilities include:

    • Full-cycle recruitment process for positions across all sectors, including hourly, term, and permanent fulltime employment;

    • Terminations on behalf of clients including consideration of legal issues;

    • Coaching employees and leadership through internal conflicts and dispute resolution;

    • Develop, review, and update corporate policies, employee handbooks, workplace procedures, and

    related HR documentation to ensure compliance with applicable employment legislation and best

    practices;

    • Managing and executing special projects such as investigations, HR audits, employee surveys, and other

    HR initiatives as required;

    • Ability to prospect and secure new business in all HR consulting area;

    • Other duties as assigned

What We’re Looking For:

  • 4-6 years in a senior HR role as an HR consultant or as internal HR management;

  • Post-secondary education or degree in Human Resources Management;

  • CPHR or CPHR Candidate considered a strong asset;

  • Solid understanding of Canadian labour and employment standards legislation;

  • Proficient in MS Office; strong IT and computer understanding;

  • Keen attention to detail, deadline-oriented, superior time management skills;

  • Strong communication and client-service skills; positive, flexible, adaptable, and outgoing interpersonal style;

  • Problem-solving and decision-making aptitude, with strong ethics and reliability;

  • Valid driver’s licence and vehicle;

  • Ability to pass a Criminal Record Check.
